Major gen Riza Kucukoglu is pleased to invite all CIOR members to the congress in Istanbul next year. Istanbul is a very nice and welcoming city . So it is preparing to welcome 1500 delegates, reserves, family members etc. There will be very intresting programme for both members and their relatives.
The general mentioned two of the major challenges for CIOR in the coming years.
One is to get a broader perspective of the threats that may be faced in the future, for instance fighting against terrorism and environmental problems and possible support by the armed forces to the civilian authorities.
The other is to help member countries without educational infrastucture for reserve officers to improve their capability.Finally, he stressed that everything has worked out very well in Riga , that LRVA has done tremendous job with the planning , and there has been strong support fort he congress from NAF and MOD.
